What's in my Ipsy Glam Bag: April!

Hey everyone! I got my April Ipsy Glam Bag today so I wanted to share what I received!

Let's start with the bag: the theme this month was "Beauty Rocks" and it's really cute. I always like the bags but this one has a little record on the front and I love it. It also looks a little bigger than the last few bags which I'm happy about (the bigger the bag, the more things you can put in it!).

Starting from the left the first item I got is the Cailyn Tinted Lip Balm in "Apple Pink". I was really excited to get this lippie because the color looked gorgeous on the website. It's coral and coral is one of my favorite lip colors. The packaging is kind of weird though. I appreciate that it comes with a cute little brush, but it feels cheaply made. The formula goes on kind of dry so I had to use some EOS to make it smooth. I will not be purchasing this but I'm glad I got one because I love lippies. Full size is $19.

The next item I received is the Big Sexy Hair Root Pump Hairspray. I wasn't exactly excited to try this but I was interested because I have heard good things about it. Let me tell you I'm impressed by how GOOD it smells. YUM. I haven't used it yet, I'm not really a hairspray person but who knows, I might be obsessed with it.

The eye shadow that came in my bag this month is CUTE! The packaging is adorable and the formula is super creamy, almost whipped. It's "White/Gold" and the brand is called City Color and it's described as a highlight mousse. I will use this probably as an eye shadow base or just as an eye shadow. I really do like the color it goes on white but it shimmers a pretty gold color in the light. LOVE!

The item that I was most excited about for this month's bag is the Urban Decay 24/7 Velvet Glide-On Pencil in "Black Velvet". OH MY GOODNESS it's SO smooth! I cannot wait to wear this and make a nice smokey eye with it. GORGE!

The last item in my bag this month was a sample of the Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion Skin Exfoliant. This is an item I'm not really sure about. It smells like someone shoved a lemon in your face. So hopefully it doesn't break me out.

That's what's in my Ipsy Bag this month! Hope you all loved it! I'm really happy with my Ipsy subscription. Let me know if you like any of these products or comment below with any questions.
Thanks for stopping by!

My EOS Lip Balm Collection!

Hi guys!

Long time no talk! Sorry about that, it's been an insane week and I'm glad it's calming down. Recently I went shopping with my mom and she knows I have an obsession with my EOS (Evolution of Smooth) Smooth Sphere Lip Balms and Ulta had the purple one (I've been wanting it and looking for it for forever) and she bought me the little two pack it came in. And she also got me some other colors and now that I have almost all of them I wanted to share my obsession with you.

Just look at how freakin' cute they are!

So the reason I'm obsessed with these lip balms are because they work so well when my lips are chapped. I have tried so many other brands (I love the Vaseline lip therapy and my Nivea lip butter but you have to dip your finger in those and I work at a hospital so I can't take those to work- gross!). The EOS balms smell so good and they go on very creamy. I use them under my lip glosses and lipsticks as a moisturizer as well.

The colors/flavors I have (from left, middle and right) are Raspberry Pomegranate, Strawberry Sorbet, and Summer Fruit.

From left, the purple one (I know it looks pink, but it's like a light lavender color) is Passion Fruit (it's limited edition but they have it at ulta right now) the blue one is Blueberry Acai (yum), the mint colored one is Sweet Mint, and the yellow one is Lemon Drop and it has SPF 15 in it.

I would have to say my favorite one right now is the Passion Fruit because I love the way it smells. I love all of them but I've been carrying that one the most in my purse. I really like that they last a long time too. I think it took me like two or three months to get through a whole one.

Those are all the EOS balms I have right now, I think there is a green and orange one I am missing but I don't mind. I want to get a pretty glass container to put them in when I'm not using them. I have used up two of them but I like to keep them since the packaging is so darn cute!

That's all for my EOS collection, do you guys love them too? Let me know what other lip balms/ chap sticks you've been loving. I like to try new ones out!

Nails of the Week! Sparkles!

Hey everyone!

I wanted to use some sparkles or glitter on my nails this week and I found this gorgeous glitter polish on clearance at Meijers! So I had to use it!

I tried to capture the glitter in this picture, but it doesn't do it justice!!

These are all of the colors I used. For the glitter I used Nicole by OPI "Sweet Dreams" from the Selena Gomez line. It went on really well and I love it! I tried to do a little ombré / raining down effect with the glitter on my nails.

Glitter!!!

The white color I used is "Snow Me White" from Sinful Colors. I used two coats of this before layering the glitter on.

For the top and base coat I used my two new favorites Sally Hansen's Diamond Strength Base and Top Coat ( I just use this as a top coat) and for base coat I used Seche Clear Crystal Clear Base Coat. These two together make my polish last so long!

Hope you liked my nails this week! I'm trying to add more spring colors to my collection as well so let me know what colors you guys have been loving!

What's in my Ipsy Glam Bag: March!

Hi guys!

I am so excited to share my Ipsy bag with you this month because I got some amazing products!

First off, let's talk about the bag. At first I was kind of skeptical about it in the Ipsy sneak peak but seeing it in person, I love it! It's from Ipsy's artist line and the artist is Klari for Ipsy and I think it's very creative and cute. I can't wait to see what they come up with for the artist line in the future.

The first item I received in my Ipsy bag is the NYX Love in Rio eye shadow palette in Bikini Bottom Parfait Bikini. OH MY GOSH. I'm IN LOVE. I was already super excited about this product because I love NYX, they are one of my favorite brands and the colors in this little palette are so gorgeous! I want to eat them! (Not literally, but you know what I mean). I can't wait to make a look using these shadows!

The next item I got from my bag is the Pixi Flawless Beauty Primer. I was kind of excited for this because I don't really have any primers, I just use lotion on my face and I've never really tried an official primer before. I tested it on the back of my hand since I was already wearing makeup and a little bit went a long way. In the light it is supppppeerrrr shimmery which can be a good thing because it will give you a nice glow, but I will have to test it under my foundation to see how much shimmer comes through. I might just use it as a highlight. (I apologize that the picture turned out a tad blurry).

The next product I got is the Chella Eyeliner Pen in Indigo Blue. I think I am almost as excited for this product as the NYX eyeshadow palette because I have been wanting to try a indigo blue eyeliner for the longest time! This is great because it has a felt tip super pointed applicator and the color comes off really bright and pretty. It does come off a little dark to me for being an indigo color, but I'm still psyched to use it for spring/summer.

The last item I got in my Ipsy bag this month is the bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie lipstick in Get Ready. When I first saw this color online I thought that this color might come off a little my-grandma-wears-this-to-church-every-Sunday, but it's actually a really pretty mauve-y pink color. I love it! It's perfect  to complement my natural lip color. I think it'll be a good color for spring. It also smells nice and glides on similar to the Revlon Lustrous lipsticks.

Overall, I'd say that this was an awesome glam bag this month and I'm so happy that I got NYX eye shadows and a pink lipstick and an indigo eyeliner. I can't wait to use all these products.

Let me know what you guys think or what you got in your Ipsy bags this month! Thanks for stopping by!

Nails of the Week! Ombré!

Hey guys!

This week I decided that I really wanted to try ombré because I love the way it looks! I have been really liking pastel colors lately so I also wanted to use a pretty light purple too.

This is how my first attempt came out. I used Sally Hansens Hard as Nails in "Lacey Lilac" (one of my favorite colors) and for the ombré I used Sinful Colors "Snow Me White" for a white base coat and then I used Ulta's "On Taupe of the World" for that pretty nude ombré effect.

You can see I only did the ombré as an accent nail since I had never done ombré before, I didn't want to do all of my nails because I felt like that was doing way too much my first time. So I kept it simple and although it didn't turn out perfect, I think it looks really cool and I can't wait to try it out with bright colors!

Of course I used the same base and top coat as last time, Seche Clear Base Coat and Sally Hansens Diamond Strength Base and Top Coat.

I actually really love these two together. The first time I used them my nails lasted four to five days, which is a huge record for me. So I'm happy with it!

Instead of explaining the ombré to you all I think I'll make a post about how to do it and I can show you a step by step process of it! I know I needed to watch a few videos on it before I tried it!

Let me know if that's something you guys would like or if you have any other ideas or questions for me!

MAC Saint Germaine Lipstick Review

Hi guys!

I was soooooooo super excited to do this blog because one, I love lipsticks, two, I love MAC lipsticks! So I went to MAC at Macy's the other day looking for the lipstick in Rose Lily, but they were sold out (sad face). BUT the guy at the MAC counter was super helpful and he was like hey if you mix Saint Germaine with a chap stick or clear lip gloss it looks just like Rose Lily. So he handed me Saint Germaine and Rose Lily was all but forgotten about. This color is just so WOW. It's a beautiful bright pink with a blueish undertone and it's so gorgeous. This year I promised myself that I would wear more bold lipstick colors because I love them so much and I love it when other people wear them so I was like this is my year for bold lips. Plus, this color is perfect for spring and summer.

This particular lipstick is from MAC's Amplified Cream Lipstick line. And true to it's name, it is pretty creamy. At least compared to the matte lipsticks. I put some EOS or Carmex on under it and it's good to go.

This is a swatch but in my opinion, this picture doesn't do it justice. It comes off a tad bit more neon colored in person.

This is what it looks like on me (duckface! lol). There is no colored filter to this picture, I just added the cool bubble lights (from Picsart). But I absolutely love this color and I can't wait for the warm weather to come in so I can wear it everyday.

Overall I give this lipstick a 9/10. The only thing I would change is I wish it wore a little longer. It lasts me about 2-3 hours depending on if I eat or not. (If I eat it's a wrap I have to re-apply it afterward).

Hope you liked this review! Let me know if you have any products you would like me to review and let me know what lipstick colors you've been loving!

Nails of the Week! 2/27

Guess what!? It's nails of the week time!

So if you follow me on Instagram you know that I went nail polish shopping yesterday and I had to try out some of the polishes that I got! I've been dying to try the new Rimmel London 60 seconds nail polish after I saw them post it on their Instagram. So I got the color 210 "Mintilicious". It's a really pretty light aqua blue color. Love it!

I wanted to jazz it up a bit so I added some polka dots (I used a bobby pin). The color I used for the dots is Sinful Colors "Snow Me White". (Shoutout to @nailsbysmashley116 for this color!).

I know I've been using the same base coat and top coat since I started doing nails of the week but let me tell you that it was not working out for me. My nails wouldn't even last 24 hours without chipping away. So I needed a change. It was driving me absolutely insane. I asked around and did some research about what are some good top coats and base coats and I went to target and got these two:

The polish on the left is the base coat I bought and it's from Seche called "Crystal Clear Base Coat" and I heard about it on YouTube from missjenfabulous and so far I love it.

On the right is the top coat I bought. It's by Sally Hansen and it's the "Diamond Strength Diamond Shine Base & Top Coat". It says base and top coat but I'm just using it as a top coat for now. I heard that this is a really good top coat for people who wash their hands a lot and that's defiantly me.

I know that was a lot of info but now you know! Lol. So that's all I have for the updates and I can't WAIT to show you all the other color I got because it's absolutely gorgeous! I hope you all liked this post and I will keep you updated on how I like the base and top coats!

10 Things that Make me Happy Tag!

Hey everyone! Happy Monday!

So I kept seeing this tag come up all over YouTube and I decided that I wanted to do it. I think it's super cute and I really enjoy seeing what makes other people happy. I also want to start being a more positive and happy person. I really have a blessed life and I am so lucky to be where I am at right now so there is no reason for negativity. I don't have time for it either.

But anyways! Let's get started! These won't be in any particular order BTW.

1. When it's sunny outside: Oh my goodness, I live in Michigan and we have more days of clouds than we do of sun. So when it's sunny outside I take full advantage! The sunlight just makes me so happy and it's just like this instant happiness booster.

2. Coffee. Good coffee. I love coffee. It's one of my many obsessions. My favorite is an extra sweet caramel macchiato. (Yes Starbucks makes it exactly how I like it, don't judge me). It makes me happy because it's warm and comforting and yummy and the caffeine helps me get through my day. I don't drink coffee every single day but I'd say around three to five days a week.

3. The Pinterest Humor board. Oh my goodness. Whenever I am in a bad mood or I am sad I go on Pinterest and look up hilarious pins. My personal favorite have been the auto-correct fails. I laugh so hard I cry. It puts me in such a good mood.

4. When other people are happy it makes me happy. When I see people so happy about something it lights up their whole face, it makes me happy too. Especially if it's my family or my friends.

5. When I accomplish something. Even if it's small like I made it to the gym that day or I finished all of my homework a day early, I get so happy when I get things done. I love it when I accomplish something that has taken me a while to do to. Like start this blog. It makes me so happy to look and see that people actually take the time to look and comment or read what I have to say.

6. My friends and family. My friends and family are always there for me and I am so happy and thankful that they are. I have an awesome support system and I love that I can call one of them and they can just make my day better with a few words.

7. Babies. This may seem random to some of you since I don't have kids but I work with babies (and children) and babies make me so happy. They are so cute and squishy and all they want are cuddles and love and food and I can give them that easily. It makes my whole day to see a baby smile or hiccup (if you haven't seen a baby hiccup it's so cute and hilarious!).

8. Being able to be myself. To be around people who let you be your whole self is the best feeling ever. I think to be truly happy you have to be able to feel comfortable to be yourself around those who you are with most of the time. It takes too much energy to not be yourself and to put up a facade of who you want people to think you are than to just be yourself.

9. Books. OMG books! I LOVE books. I love to read and I love to write. Reading just makes me so happy because I can relax and forget about me and my life and just read about something I enjoy. Right now I've been loving Rachel Higginson (I buy her books on my Nook). I am always reading a book. Or two, or three. (I have a problem).

10. Music. I just love music. There's always going to be a song out there that matches your mood and I love the fact that I can just tune everything out for a little bit. Especially Beyonce! (Beyonce is my favorite)! When I'm home by myself sometimes I start singing really loud and I hope the neighbors don't get too annoyed (lol).

So those are ten things that make me happy and honestly I could write about more but then we'd be here forever and that's the tag so we'll leave it at that. I would love to know if you all did the tag and what things make you guys happy!

Nails of the Week! 2/20

Hey guys!

So I have done my nails again! This time I used the lovely Zoya nail polish that I got in my Ipsy bag this month. I couldn't wait to try out this color! It's so gorgeous!

Look at that color! It's the perfect ballerina-ish pinky barbie color. And I love it! I put on two coats last night. I thought about doing three, but I'm not about that waiting-forever-for-my-nail-polish-to-dry life. And two coats looks awesome. AND it hasn't chipped on me yet! The color is called "dot" (wouldn't it look cute with some white polka dots too).

For the base coat and top coat, I used my usual Orly in "clear" and Sinful Colors in "clear coat". I need to get myself another base and top coat though. The last time I painted my nails they chipped like crazy! I need to make a stop to Sally's this week!

Let me know if you guys have any suggestions for good top coat/ base coats that are good for chipping. I also need a good nail strengthener!

Hope you enjoyed my post! Thanks for stoping by!

Talkative Tuesdays: Updates, Las Vegas, Nursing Program, Ipsy

Hi guys!

Happy Tuesday! Let me tell you I slept so good last night and I am so happy today. I wanted to update you all on what's going on in my life and what I've been up to. If you follow me on twitter or Instagram (@kayceeher and kayceeher) you know that I just got back from Las Vegas. I went with my husband and we went for a little getaway and let me tell you that Vegas is a blast! It's so fun and fancy and there's so much to do! I defiantly need to go back to see some shows! Getting out of all this snow was really nice too. I can't wait for spring! Speaking of spring, I'm supposed to find out if I'm getting in the nursing program soon! I'm really nervous about it but I really want to get in this fall. I'm ready for it. School has been okay so far this semester. I just need to study more ( but who doesn't)!? But it's mid winter break next week so I'm looking forward to having a short break from class. When is your guys spring break/ mid winter break? I know it's different for every school.

If you saw my last blog you know I have been LOVING my Ipsy subscription. I wasn't really sure if I'd like them but my friend told me about it so I decided to try it. It's only $10 a month so why not? And after three bags, I'm actually impressed. I did have to wait two months on a wait list but I didn't mind. And I love that it comes with a cute little makeup bag every month. I always need more makeup bags and I've been using them all. That's all I wanted to update you on for now. Let me stop now before I start rambling (lol).

Let me know what you've been up to  lately and if you're doing anything for spring break! And leave a comment and let me know if you have Ipsy and how you like it.

What's in my Ipsy Glam Bag: February

Happy Saturday everyone!

I got my Ipsy bag yesterday (Valentine's day so ironic!) so I wanted to share all the awesome things I got this month!

First of all the bag is super cute (as always). It's a very Valentine-sy pink and the lining inside of the bag is cheetah! I wish they would make the outside of the bag cheetah but hey, all the fabulous things are inside the bag, right?

The first thing I pulled out of my bag are these fabulous lashes from J. Cat. I got them in EL20 and they are seriously huge. I wish I had these when I went to Vegas! It comes with eyelash glue and says that they are 100% human hair. I've never worn human hair eyelashes before (is that weird?) but I bet they look amazing on! Review anyone?? They retail for $3.99.

The next item that came out of my bag is the Skyn Fresh Start Mask with Ice Age Mud. It says that it is a two step detoxing and brightening mask. I have heard that this mask is really good so I'm excited to try it. I'm kind of nervous though because I have really sensitive skin on my face so hopefully this will work out. It retails for $39.00 for 6 packs (so that would be $6.50 for this one packet).

I was really excited for this product when I saw it and I absolutely LOVE the color. It's the Zoya nail polish in Dot. It's a full size product and it retails for $9.00 a bottle. This might be this weeks nails of the week post! I've never used this brand before so I'm curious to see how it stays on and if the formula goes on smoothly.

I was also really excited for this product too because you all know that I have a lippy obsession so getting a lippy in my glam bag is always a good thing! This is by Pop Beauty and I got the color Fuchsia Freesia and HELLO COLOR! This is super bright and I love it. I can't wait for spring/summer to wear my bright colors. I love it. It does smell a little weird but hey I'm not complaining. It retails for $16.00.

Last but not least, I got the Eyetini Cordial Cream Shadow & Base in One. I got the color Violette and it really is creamy. It went on well and dried pretty quickly. I'm not too sure about the color or how I'm going to use it but I have been into experimenting with eye shadows lately so why not go purple? It makes my brown eyes stand out anyways. It retails for $18.00. I'm excited to try it.

So that was what's in my glam bag this month! If you guys have an Ipsy subscription what did you get this month? Let me know which products you are excited for and if you want any reviews!

Nails of the Week! 2/10/14

Here's my nails for the week!

The first coat I did is OPI in "I get a kick out of gold!" Then on top of that, I wanted to add some sparkles because why not?

So I topped it with Ulta's "boogie nights" it's soooooo cute! I love this glitter!

For a base coat and top coat, I used the same two polishes I used last post: Orly's "clear" and Sinful Colors "clear coat".

I hope you all enjoyed this quick post! Let me know what nails you're rocking this week!

Mascaras to Love! Drugstore & High End

Hi guys!

Sorry I've been so MIA it's been a crazy two weeks for me with exams and work. My goal this year is to post at least two blogs a week, hopefully three. If I had it my way I'd probably post everyday but I have a life (lol). I've been so excited to put this blog up because mascaras are my favorite makeup product (besides lippies) so I wanted to let you all know what's good out there.

I've included two drugstore and two high end mascaras for every budget!

Let's start off with Great Lash by Maybelline. The color I buy is Dark Brown. I love this mascara because it's easy to put on and it's simple. It's one of those mascaras that you use for everyday or if you're just hanging out. I only put on two coats,, but you can easily add more.

The next mascara I want to talk about is the L'Oreal Paris Voluminous Original in Brown/Black. I love this mascara because the wand is nice and fluffy and it really does volumize my lashes. Again, I have put on two coats (which is what I do with every mascara) but if you add more, you get more volume.

The first high end mascara I want to talk about is the Benefit's They're Real. I LOVE this mascara. When it's brand new it can be a bit clumpy (like most mascaras) but once you get past that, it's perfect. It lengthens lashes and makes them look great. I love the end of the wand because it has a nice round edge which makes it super easy to get those tiny outer lashes in the corners of your eye. The bristles are hard which makes the product apply well and separates lashes at the same time.

I saved the best for last! Calvin Klein's The One mascara. I know I have already talked about this one in my monthly favorites  but I couldn't resist giving you guys a full on description of this awesomely amazing mascara. The reason I love this mascara so much is that you can change the size of the bristles on the wand. As you can see below, you can make the bristles longer and straight, or you can twist the cap (at the top of the mascara cap) to make the bristles spiral. This makes them shorter on the top and longer on the bottom so you can get to your bottom lashes and corners more easily. It's the freaking best! AND it goes on so smoothly. I've never had it clump up on me. It separates lashes as you put it on so you have no clumps. It lengthens really well too. There's nothing I hate about this product. Plus I got it free for my birthday from Ulta (who doesn't love free!). When it runs out I will defiantly be repurchasing.

Those are all my current favorite mascaras that I highly recommend. I was going to add a few more but I only wanted to show you guys the ones I've been wearing. I like to be up front and honest and I didn't want to show you a mascara I hardly ever wear.

I hope you guys liked this post, leave me a comment and let me know what mascaras you've been loving!
